How To Support Your Thunderbirds
The Civil Air Patrol is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization established by Public Law 79-476. We receive our funding from four major sources: membership dues, corporate donations, Congressional appropriations, and private donations.
Donations are tax deductible and will be made payable to “Texas Wing Civil Air Patrol for the benefit of TX179.”
How Do We Raise Funds?
The Thunderbird Squadron relies on many fund raising methods to allow our members to participate in the numerous activities each year. Yearly the unit conducts a Self Defense class, multiple game nights, selling of carwash tickets, and selling wreaths for the Wreaths Across America program.
Wreaths Across America
Remember, Honor, Teach
Each year Thunderbird members honor those who have fallen by participating in Wreaths Across America. By selling wreaths during the Christmas holidays, fallen hero’s at The Houston National Cemetery are remembered by the placing of wreaths at each gravesite. A small portion of each wreath purchased for a service member goes back to our squadron.
